The
most expensive Indian Wedding till date happens in Delhi and the total cost of
this marriage is about Rs 250 Crore. The wedding was between the Congress
leader Kanwar Tanwar son Lalit with Yogita the Daughter of ex-MLA of Jaunpuria.
It was indeed an Unique wedding where a five seater Helicopter been presented
to the Groom, which is perhaps for the first time in the history of marriages
in India. The wedding was held on 5th March 2011 at Jaunpur village in Haryana.
On the wedding day, the usual dark roads leading to Jaunapur village near Asola were lined with flowers and brightly lit by decorated bulbs from three kilometres before the village started. Almost 40 traffic policemen were on duty to manage the vehicles of 20,000 guests and 1,000 persons were looking after the arrangements at the grand farmhouse ceremony. This is the biggest Gujjar marriage of all time in northern India.
The
groom was presented with a gift Of Rs. 25 Million On the "Tikka"
ceremony . 18 members of the groom’s family were also given a cash gift of Rs.
10 million each. Huge donations were made to various temples on this auspicious
occasion, including Rs. 7.1 millions to the famous Salasar Balaji Temple.
The Baaratis, people from the grooms side, who had attended the marriage were
more than 2000 and all were presented with silver biscuits of 30gms. each and a
suit each.
Two Receptions were arranged for this grand wedding where all the film stars from Shahrukh Khan to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended. The guests for the marriage also include Indian Prime Minster Manmohan Singh.
Various
types of Vegetarian foods from Italian to Chinese been served to the Guests
according to their needs.
Kanwar
Singh Tanwar, the ex-contestant for MP seat of south delhi, is considered to be
one of the richest Gujjars in India. With farm houses in UK, leather factories
and pharmacies all around the globe he is known to be one of the most famous
emerging politicians (cum business person). Most of the films produced by Boni
kapoor are actually financed by this man (NO ENTRY is an example).
On
the other hand Sukhbeer Singh jaunapuria, the famous Ex-MLA of Gurgaon is said
to own every 10th commercial building of Gurgaon. With an alleged property of
well over 30,000 crores, he sent a marvellous lagan on 25th of February by
gifting items like One Helicopter (costing 40 Crores), 21 crore & 21 Lacs
Cash, 21 KG Gold, 200 Kg Silver, A Bunglow worth 15 crores, A few buildings
with monthly rental of around 1 crore in total.
