All brides go for flower adornment. Besides beautification, flowers also have a functional aspect. Strings of flowers, usually jasmine, adorned around the bun helps the veil to stay in place by means of hair pins.

The floral strings can be attached in a number of ways. It may be encircled around the bun as a single string, or as multiple strings.

In the case of South Indian weddings, the bride does not puts the veil on her head which leaves her hair exposed thus eliminating the chances of veil interrupting with the hairstyle. Multiple floral strings are attached to the bun which may be placed at the nape, high up or at the middle depending on what suits the bride. The floral strings may also hang loose over both the shoulders.

Flowers can also be used to adorn the hair braided into a plait. The plait is decorated completely with flower strands.

Indian Muslim and Punjabi brides often go for hair braided into two plaits both hanging over the shoulders in the front. The plaits are adorned with flowers.

Bridal hair jewelry

Bridal hairstyles are incomplete without bridal hair jewelries. These not only adorn the hairstyle but are also essential bridal jewelry. A bridal hair jewelry comprises of beads, jewel comb, jewel hair pins, Maang tika, Tiara, Strands of pearls and many more.

A maang tika is a traditional bridal hair jewelry that consists of two parts. The maang ( string ) rests on the center hair parting via small hook that allows it to get attached to the hair. Whereas the tikka (pendant) rests on the forehead.

There are many variations in the traditional bridal maang tika. A maang tika is often clubbed with two strings made of pearl or simple chains that run across the hairline at the forehead and are attached to the hair behind the ears on both the sides via hook.

A maang tika is not only worn by the bride but it is also the most popular hair ornament worn by the bridesmaids.

In addition to maang tika, there are many other hair jewelry pieces that are attached with the hair. One such a piece of jewelry is quite similar to the

maang tika which is also attached to the hair. The difference lies in the placement and thickness of the jewelry. These are wider than maang tika and are placed on either side of the central hair parting. This piece of hair jewelry is more popular among the muslim brides.

Bridal tiaras are not new to Indian brides. 

Jeweled clips are often used to fix up the hairdo. These are also decorative hair pieces.

Decorative hair pins and clips are also used to adorn the plait. These are attached as separate piece throughout the braided plait.

Not just females, guys can also make Jewish wedding hairstyles at the weddings. They can wave their short hair or may grow their hair to shoulder length. An Indian marriage is one of the most serious and scared affair in the society. A Hindu marriage in particular is all about rituals and customs. There are a number of them which are followed before and after wedding, making it an elaborate ceremony. Every ritual and rite has its own meaning. One such custom is solemnizing seven vows or pheras.

The  seven vows are the seven promises which the bride and the groom do to each other for a happy and prosperous life. They are bound together by an unseen bond protected by these promising words.

These seven vows are known as Saptadi, which are performed along with Mangalpheras, which is revolving around the sacred fire. Any marriage is incomplete without these vows and is deemed complete once they are conducted. On the day of the wedding the bride and the groom sit under the Mandap or the scared canopy for this ritual. The bride is seated towards left of the groom before the pheras, while towards the right after they are complete.

The Seven Vows:

Groom:
You will offer me food and be helpful in every way. I will cherish you and provide welfare and happiness for you and our children.
Bride:
I am responsible for the home and all household responsibilities.

Necklaces: Necklaces

  and chains of different lengths which is usually made of gold and embellished with diamonds, pearls or other precious stones are also worn by the bride. Mangalsutra which is worn around the neck is tied by the groom during the wedding rituals.

  or armlets are worn on the upper arms of the bride over the sari blouse.

Mehendi: Mehendi

  is another significant shringar of the bride which is applied on the bride's hands and feet in a special pre-wedding ritual in India.

Bangles

The Bride wearsnbsp; bangles  or bracelets made of gold, glass or other metals depending upon the custom.

Rings

A bride wears eightnbsp;ringsnbsp;in both her hands, which are attached with a central flower or medallion that covers the upper part of the hand called hathphulor.

Kamarband: Kamarband

is a beautifully designed gold or silver belt is worn around the waist of the bride studded mostly with beautiful gems. The belt not just enhances the waist area but also helps in holding the Sari or Dress in place.

Payal

: Silver   anklets   are worn on the ankles of the bride and toes are adorned with toe rings   made of silver. The feet are also decorated. In some regions a thick red line is drawn along the outer border of the foot. In other areas, mehandi designs are applied to the feet.

Itar

And finally  itar or fragrance is applied on to the bride to keep her fresh and smelling good.

Sindoor: Sindoor

  is applied on the central parting of the hair during the wedding ceremony.
